Sometimes, a portrait becomes more than just art. This portrait has become one of the most meaningful pieces I have created.
Last year, a dear friend and longtime supporter of my work asked me to draw a portrait of his friend’s mother, who was going through a difficult time. My friend and I felt the same way, that it would be beautiful to capture her together with her husband, gently leaning toward each other.
When I finished the drawing, I felt the mother smile at me with an angelic warmth, as if she were saying, "Thank you." The next day, I learned that she had departed this world. It was the exact same day the portrait was completed.
Today, I heard that her husband also passed away late last month, as if he wanted to be with her again. I believe they are together now, and I pray this portrait continues to bring peace and comfort to their family.
