About 6 years ago, my dear friend and supporter from ARTDATAintel shared a photo of a stunning sunset over Marco Island with me. I had always wanted to paint it in color someday, SO I'm so happy I finally did!
Because the color selection was limited, I scraped the oil pastel sticks with a palette knife and mixed them with linseed oil to create my own colors. I ended up using my fingers to blend the colors naturally on the paper for the final touch, so my fingers were actually sore about two weeks after that! It was challenging, but a lot of fun!
